Kuzhuppilly

It is in Ernakulam Dist. towards the middle of Vypin Island.
Etymologically the Word 'Kuzhu' derives from the word Sabha (council). The word 'Pally' or 'Ooru' means 'a place'. Thus, the word originally meant the place where the council (Sabha) was assembled. At first, Pallippuram-Kuzhuppilly Group Panchayaths formed in 1913 under the Erstwhile Princely State of Cochin. In 1962, Kuzhuppilly Panchayat came in to existence with Poulose Puthuva as its premier. Kuzhuppilly Village Court was one among the 47 Village Courts established by the Kochi State during 1942-'43.
It is also fame for its scenic beach, placid back waters and pleasant paddy fields. The village is blessed with many places of worships such as Siva, Pallathamkulangara Devi, Balakrishna Temples, St.Augustin's Church & Cheruvypu Amalolbhava Matha Churh, Ayyappa, Subrahmanya, Narayana Temples & Ayyampilly Siva, Bhadrakali, Muruga Temples,St.John's Church,St.Kuriakose Chapel and many other.
